Simon de Bono has more than 25 years' experience working with specialised explosives and pyrotechnic products across mining, quarrying, construction and outdoor adventure industries throughout Australasia and South Pacific. His knowledge and experience in handling dangerous goods and designing safety management programs, specific to each region and operating environment, is second-to-none.
Based on this solid foundation and reputation, Simon established RocketMan in 2008 and, alongside European manufacturers, began introducing RocketMan’s high quality range of pyrotechnic wildlife control products and launcher systems into New Zealand.
RocketMan was the first company to introduce these systems and supply customers in New Zealand and Australia.
COMMERCIAL
TRIAL SUCCESS
In 2009, RocketMan conducted an extensive 12-month trial at Christchurch International Airport with the aim of reducing the incidence of birdstrike (when a bird or flock of birdscollide with an aircraft, usually during take-off or landing).
The successful trial demonstrated that RocketMan’s systems were highly effective at harmlessly scaring birds away from the airport vicinity.
RocketMan’s proven systems are now an integral component of bird and wildlife control management programs at regional and international airports throughout New Zealand and Australia.
